common counts

   Claims for debt alleged in a lawsuit (and listed in the complaint) that are alleged together and must be defended against collectively. Common counts could include claims of debt for goods sold and delivered, for work performed, for money loaned or advanced, or for money due on an account stated or on an open book account.
